No. 2 Tennessee (8-2) defeated Charleston Southern (3-6), 8-2, Wednesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Wednesday’s win completed a two-game sweep for Tennessee against the Buccaneers.
Blake Burke went 2-for-3, recording one home run, two runs and two RBIs for the Vols.
Burke’s two-run single in the first inning gave Tennessee a 2-0 lead as Christian Moore and Jared Dickey scored on the play. Burke then scored on Griffin Merritt’s sacrifice fly.
Tennessee scored two runs in the second inning on an RBI groundout by Moore and a scoring single by Zane Denton.
Burke hit a home run in the sixth inning, extending Tennessee’s lead to 7-0.
After the Buccaneers scored in the seventh inning, Tennessee’s Maui Ahuna hit an RBI single.
