Vikings WR Adam Thielen on practice last week: ‘Guys didn’t look at it as a negative situation’

Vikings WR Adam Thielen talked about Minnesota’s unconventional practice routine this week, due to outbreaks on the Titans.

The Vikings had to undergo virtual practices at one point this week, due to positive coronavirus outbreaks on the Titans, Minnesota’s Week 3 opponent.

Despite that, the Vikings managed to get their first win of the season against a struggling Texans team. Adam Thielen recently told Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer about the unconventional practice schedule:

“I think guys didn’t look at it as a negative situation,” Thielen told Breer. “They just kind of took it as a positive and took care of their bodies, locked into the virtual meetings that we had Wednesday. And then just took it upon themselves to prepare and do what each individual needs to do to be successful. The coaches as well, not making excuses, not worrying about what’s happening, focusing on what we could control. And I think they did such a great job of just kind of grinding and making it work.”

Thielen and Justin Jefferson both went for over 100 yards and the Vikings offense looked like a well-run machine. If that happens against Seattle on Sunday, Minnesota may just turn around its nightmarish start to 2020.
