Vikings waive OT Sam Schlueter with non-football illness designation

After waiving Sam Schlueter, the Minnesota Vikings now have one roster spot open.

The Minnesota Vikings have waived OT Sam Schlueter with a non-football illness designation. The move was announced by the team via their social media.

Schlueter, along with fullback Zach Ojile, was signed after a successful rookie minicamp to provide needed offensive line depth. With Brian O’Neill still working his way back into shape from a partially torn Achilles tendon, this could be a sign that he is ready to return to team drills.

Schlueter was an undrafted free agent in 2022 out of the University of Minnesota. He spent time with the San Francisco 49ers last season on their practice squad.

The Vikings now have one roster spot open.
