Training camp for the Minnesota Vikings is underway and reviews are starting to leak out.
Over the first couple of days, fans and media alike are looking intently on the rookies, young players and incoming free agents, as they are the newest players on the team. Reports are flying in about numerous players, and one that is drawing the most attention is second-round draft pick Andrew Booth Jr. In his first training camp with the Vikings, Booth Jr. is in a battle with Cameron Dantzler for a starting job at outside cornerback.
On Wednesday during the first day of practices, he had a nice interception of starting quarterback Kirk Cousins.

But Thursday was the day where he really shined. One thing that was praised about Booth Jr. during the pre-draft process was how confident he played. That showed up in a big way, especially in one rep with second-year wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette.

The aspect that was most promising was the praise that Booth Jr. was receiving from his teammates, most notably from eight-time Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson.
“He looked pretty good,” said Peterson. “He moved around really well. It looks like he’s healthy, so we’ll see if he can continue to build on that. I like how instinctive he is. He’s very quick at the line of scrimmage. He’s going to be problem here pretty soon.”
Being fully healthy for the first time since high school after having core muscle surgery this offseason, Booth Jr. is setting himself up for a really nice rookie season and career.
