Vikings CB Cameron Dantzler has played his way into the cornerback rotation.
He was inactive for Week 1 vs. the Bengals, but played well against the Cardinals in Week 2. He made his presence felt against the Browns in Week 4 as well. He had a pass defended and three total tackles vs. Cleveland.
Now, Dantzler’s comeback story is on hold. The Vikings had to place Dantzler on the COVID-19/Reserve list, the team announced Monday.
The Vikings made another decision on Monday, too. The team released wide receiver Whop Philyor from the practice squad. Philyor, an Indiana product, signed with the team as an undrafted free agent this offseason.
With Philyor gone, Minnesota may want to add depth to a different position group on the practice squad, especially with the injuries on the defensive side of the ball right now.
