Vikings jump to 18th in The Ringer power rankings

The Vikings beat the Lions in Week 9 to move to 3-5 on the season.

After winning their second-straight game, the Vikings have moved up to 18th in The Ringer’s weekly power rankings.

The Vikings dominated the Lions 34-20 to move to 3-5 in Week 9, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

In Danny Kelly’s power rankings at The Ringer, the Vikings are in ‘The Muddled Middle’ category.

Here’s a bit of what Kelly wrote about the Vikings:

Things will get tougher for the Vikings down the stretch, with matchups against the Buccaneers and Saints in December, but it wouldn’t be too wild if we’re talking about Minnesota as a dark horse playoff team a month from now.

Next up for the Vikings are the 5-4 Bears, a team that ranks 17th in the power rankings.

To round out the NFC North, the Packers rank sixth and the Lions rank 22nd.
