The Minnesota Vikings will have one less pick in the 2021 NFL draft because of a salary cap violation relating to a practice squad player, per Mark Craig of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

The Vikings will forfeit their seventh-round selection in the 2021 draft for a salary cap violation related to a practice squad player’s contract in 2019, the NFL has confirmed.
The team lost the 242nd overall pick. The Vikings now have 11 picks in the NFL draft, which will take place April 29-May 1. In addition, three Vikings executives were fined $10,000 apiece.
As Craig notes, the Vikings are still loaded with double-digit picks in this year’s draft, starting with the No. 14 overall selection in the first round, so this shouldn’t have much of an impact on their plans for draft weekend.
