Vikings fan mailed Kwesi Adofo-Mensah shirt with ‘Once before I die’ Super Bowl plea

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah got the hint the moment he arrived in Minnesota

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah barely had a chance to kick his feet up when he received an impassioned plea from a fan.

According to the Minnesota Vikings general manager, a “Once before I die” t-shirt had been mailed to him as a clear Super Bowl plea for the championship-starved franchise.

“The first thing I noticed when I got here, and I’ll be honest, I’ve lived on the coast most of my life,” Adofo-Mensah said, during an appearance on Pro Football Talk. “So I didn’t really know, but they love football. First and foremost, they love ball here. This thing is impacted on you the second you get here. I got a t-shirt. I think somebody mailed me one, “Once before I die.” So that message is pretty clear.”

Adofo-Mensah said he’s accepting of the challenge.

The man that worked his way up from a commodities group with Morgan Stanley to being the general manager of an NFL team didn’t come all this way for nothing. He’s hoping to achieve something special with a team that hasn’t even been in a playoff game in three years.

The Vikings certainly have the personnel to make it interesting, and they have an offensive guru at head coach in Kevin O’Connell, who just won a Super Bowl as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams.

So there are people in the building with experience doing the very things Adofo-Mensah and the Vikings are looking to do. It might not be perfect by any stretch, but the team clearly appears to be on the right track.
