Vikings defensive assistant Imarjaye Albury coaches LBs/EDGEs in Senior Bowl

Minnesota Vikings defensive assistant Imarjaye Albury gets an opportunity to coach an interesting group of linebackers at the Senior Bowl.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl announced the National Team’s linebacker/edge rusher group and that Minnesota Vikings defensive assistant Imarjaye Albury will be coaching them. He will join New York Jets’ defensive assistant Nathaniel Willingham to coach the following players next week in Mobile:

  • Michigan LB Michael Barrett
  • Notre Dame LB JD Bertrand
  • Georgia State LB Jontrey Hunter
  • North Carolina LB Cedric Gray
  • Washington LB Edefuan Ulofoshio
  • North Carolina State LB Payton Wilson
  • Kansas LB Austin Booker
  • Michigan LB Jaylen Harrell
  • Washington State DE Brennan Jackson
  • Penn State DE Adisa Issac
  • Western Michigan DE Marshawn Kneeland
  • UCLA OLB Laiatu Latu
  • Michigan OLB Braiden McGregor
  • Troy DE Javon Solomon

Earlier this month, the Senior Bowl had announced that fellow assistant Daronte Jones would be the defensive coordinator for the National team so the Vikings will have two coaches working closely with the defenders from the National team.

With the uncertainty with the pass rushers next season, including perennial Pro-Bowl edge rusher Danielle Hunter, this is a unique opportunity for Minnesota to get a first-hand look at some of the possible replacements in next year’s draft.

UCLA’s Laiatu Latu is the most recognizable name as he is in the conversation to be, not only one of the top edge rushers, but defensive players in this draft.
