What a great opportunity to talk about Vikings running back Dalvin Cook.

Cook has been in the news this week after it was reported that he will hold out if he doesn’t receive a contract extension from the Vikings.

This doesn’t exactly come as a surprise.

Whether or not you agree that Cook should receive a big-time extension, most everyone agrees that Cook is one of the best running backs in the league.

In a ranking of the most elusive running backs in the NFL by Pro Football Focus, Cook ranks fifth.

Here’s what Ben Linsey wrote about Cook:

Cook has excelled at making people miss since his days at Florida State. He forced 91 missed tackles on the ground in 2016 for the Seminoles — a number that remains one of the highest marks in a single season since PFF began charting the college ranks in 2014. That success has carried over to the NFL. Stretching back to 2017, his missed tackles forced per touch mark of 0.22 ranks third among backs on this list with at least 200 touches.

The Vikings certainly have a big decision to make with Cook in the coming weeks. Maybe Cook will bring this list with him to the negotiating table.
