Vikings boast PFF’s top rated tackle

The Vikings finally have a good offensive line and are starting to get recognized for it.

After struggling on the offensive line for the better part of a decade, the Minnesota Vikings now have a good unit. It’s been a long time coming and both the film and metrics support it.

Pro Football Focus has one of those metrics as they have left tackle Christian Darrisaw graded as the best offensive tackle in the league. He was also the highest-ranked tackle in weeks five and six.

His grades are excellent across the board, including allowing only nine pressures across 199 pass blocking snaps.

  • Overall: 86.2, 1/74
  • Pass blocking: 85.5, 5/74
  • Run blocking: 83.9, 4/74

When you watch the film on Darrisaw, he plays like he’s on a rampage like King Kong. Darrisaw throws his weight around and drives defenders into the ground like it’s nothing.

With Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill both ranking in the top six among offensive tackles, the Vikings are set up to be a great landing spot for a young quarterback.
