Video: What to make of Gilbert Burns’ ultimatum to UFC and the fact that it … worked?

[autotag]Gilbert Burns[/autotag] won twice this past Saturday at UFC 287.

First in the cage, Burns claimed a unanimous decision win over Jorge Masvidal that sent “Gamebred” into retirement. Then afterward during the post-fight news conference, Burns issued an ultimatum to UFC brass, demanding that he be the backup for the planned Leon Edwards vs. Colby Covington welterweight title fight to ensure his shot against the winner.

Shortly thereafter Dana White stepped up to the microphone and was asked about Burns’ demand – and the UFC boss obliged. Great news for Burns but no so much if you’re Belal Muhammad on an eight-fight winning streak.

Is this the right way to use Burns in the 170-pound picture given all that’s going on? Or does something else make more sense?

Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Danny Segura, Brian “Goze” Garcia and “Gorgeous” George Garcia answered those questions with host Mike Bohn. You can watch their discussion in the video above and check out this week’s full episode below.
