Promoter Eddie Hearn is targeting December for the Anthony Joshua-Kubrat Pulev heavyweight title fight.
Hearn and Co. obviously are hoping that spectators will be allowed on site for that event, wherever it lands. The live gate would produce a fortune for all involved.
Another factor is Joshua’s left knee, which he strained during a run. He was seen on crutches at a Black Lives Matter protest in early June, although he now says he’s 100 percent.
Is it important for Joshua to get the fight with Pulev out of the way so he and the boxing world can begin to focus on a superfight with Tyson Fury, assuming Fury gets past Deontay Wilder in their third fight? Or is there no rush?
DAZN commentators Chris Mannix and Sergio Mora discuss that topic in this episode of Jabs with Mannix and Mora.
