Andy Ruiz Jr. climbed to the top of the heavyweight heap on one unforgettable night in June of last year, when he stopped Anthony Joshua, only to come crashing down in the rematch six months later.
Ruiz weighed in at 283½ for the rematch, evidence that he hadn’t trained properly.
Can Ruiz turn it around? Can he regain a heavyweight a title or perhaps become the No. 1 big man in sport once again?
He joined forces with trainer Eddy Reynoso, which some believe is an indication that he has learned his lesson. However, only time will tell whether Ruiz will do what it takes for another serious run at a heavyweight championship.
DAZN commentators Chris Mannix and Sergio Mora discuss that topic in this episode of Jabs with Mannix and Mora.
