Alexander Povetkin rocked Dillian Whyte and the boxing world when he stopped the British fighter with a single uppercut in Round 5 on Aug. 22 outside London.
Until that moment, Whyte, the WBC’s No. 1 contender, seemed to be in control and on his way to a dominating victory.
The silver lining for Whyte is that there was a rematch clause in the their contract. They’re scheduled to fight a second time on Nov. 21. No site had been announced.
In this episode of Boxing with Chris Mannix, courtesy of DAZN, Mannix asks Whyte what happened in the Povetkin fight and why he decided to face him again immediately.
Here’s what Whyte had to say.
