Lightweight Devin Haney reportedly has agreed to face Yuriorkis Gamboa on Nov. 7.
Haney, who is expected to face the winner of the upcoming Ryan Garcia-Luke Campbell fight next year, hasn’t fought since he easily outpointed Alfredo Santiago in November of last year.
Gamboa, the 38-year-old 2004 Olympic champion from Cuba, is coming off a 12th-round knockout loss against Gervonta Davis in December.
Haney had also considered fighting featherweight titleholder Gary Russell Jr., who would’ve had to move up two weight classes for the fight.
In this episode of Jabs with Mannix and Mora, courtesy of DAZN, hosts Chris Mannix and Sergio Mora discuss both Gamboa and Russell as prospective opponents for Haney.
Here’s what they had to say.
