Cecilia Braekhus is “The First Lady” of boxing.

The Colombian-born Norwegian, the undisputed welterweight champion, won her first title when some of her opponents were children (in 2009) and she still reigns.

Braekhus (36-0, 9 KOs) will break Joe Louis’ record of 25 consecutive defenses if she beats Jessica McCaskill (8-2, 3 KOs) on Aug. 15 on the streets of Tulsa, Okla., on DAZN.

In this video feature, Braekhus, 38, opens up about what it was like coming up in the sport when women weren’t as accepted as they are today. She discusses the state of women’s boxing. And she gets into the fight with McCaskill.

Here’s what she had to say.
