BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox have placed Zack Godley on the injured list.
Godley, a former University of Tennessee pitcher, was shelved Thursday with a right elbow flexor strain. He was placed on the 10-day injured list.
Godley has struggled since being acquired by Boston after being placed on waivers by the Detroit Tigers late in spring training.
He has appeared in eight games and made seven starts, but he has yet to go five innings in any of his appearances.
The former Vol is 0-4 with an 8.16 earned run average in 2020. He does have 28 strikeouts this season. Godley has surrendered 26 runs (all earned), 42 hits and 14 walks.
He has also surrendered nine home runs this season.
Godley previously played for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Chicago Cubs.
