We officially have yet another reason to celebrate Kobe Bryant. We knew all along that he’d would be a surefire, first ballot Hall of Famer when the time came. Now, that time is officially here.
The NBA announced that Kobe Bryant will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame later this year along with Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Tamika Catchings.
Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, and his daughter, Natalia, joined ESPN after the official announcement to share their emotions in the moments after hearing it.
Vanessa called Kobe making the Hall of Fame, the “peak of his NBA career” and said the family was extremely proud of him.
"We're incredibly proud of him."

“It’s an incredible accomplishment and honor and we’re extremely proud of him. Obviously, we wish he was here with us to celebrate. But it’s definitely the peak of his NBA career and every accomplishment that he had as an athlete was a stepping stone to be here. So we’re incredibly proud of him.”
Once again, Vanessa Bryant is showing us incredible strength in speaking about her husband publicly so soon after his passing. This couldn’t be an easy moment for her or her daughter.
Hopefully, they’ll be able to celebrate Bryant’s accomplishments in a way he would’ve wanted.
