Vanderbilt Commodores College Football Preview 2021: Top Players

Best Vanderbilt Commodores Offensive Player

WR Cam Johnson, Sr.
He might not have cranked out a whole lot of big plays, but the veteran led the team with 56 catches for 545 yards and three scores after coming up with a steady 30 grabs with three touchdowns as a freshman. He’s very quick and great at working his way open, but now he needs the ball on the move.

2. WR Chris Pierce, Sr.
3. QB Ken Seals, Soph.
4. RB Re’Mahn Davis, Sr.
5. TE Ben Bresnahan, Sr.

Best Vanderbilt Commodores Defensive Player

CB Jaylen Mahoney, Jr.
An interesting and tough defensive back, he’s a corner who was used in sort of an outside linebacker position last year but now should be working as a true defensive back. He only broke up two passes and didn’t come up with any interceptions after coming up with one as a freshman, but he’s a terrific tackler who can work anywhere in the secondary.

2. LB Anfernee Orji, Jr.
3. S Dashaun Jerkins, Sr.
4. S Brendon Harris, Sr.
5. DT Raashaan Wilkins, Sr.

Top Incoming Vanderbilt Commodores Transfer

RB Re’Mahn Davis, Jr.
The 5-9, 215-pounder rose up as a freshman at Temple and ran for 936 yards and eight touchdowns while also looking decent as a receiver. He averaged close to five yards per carry and tore off over 100 yards three times. Last year he was decent in the first four games with a 113-yard day against Memphis, and then was out for the final three games.

Now it’s his job to try taking over the Vanderbilt rushing attack with a tough style and a nice burst. He should be an instant fit for what the new coaching staff needs.
