Vance Honeycutt earns another Freshman All-America honor

UNC baseball star Vance Honeycutt earned more freshman All-American honors for his impressive first year in Chapel Hill.

While the 2022 UNC baseball season came to a disappointing end in the Chapel Hill Super Regional, there was a big bright spot for the Diamond Heels. And one of those bright spots was freshman [autotag]Vance Honeycutt[/autotag].

The outfielder put together a historic season in his first year with the program, becoming the first player in UNC history to steal 20-plus bases and hit 20-plus home runs. With his efforts this year, Honeycutt is racking up some big honors as well.

The latest? Another Freshman All-America honor, the second of the year for the talented outfielder.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced that Honeycutt earned the first-team honors, being one of the 34 named to the team and one of 17 named to the first team.

Honeycutt finished second among all freshmen in home runs (25), runs (66), and total bases (166) this season.
