Jazz at Thunder: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks
Prediction
Jazz 118, Thunder 106
Money line (ML)
The Jazz (-300) should win this handily but it’s not worth the risk of a money line bet. We’ll PASS on the ML and focus our bets on the spread and the Over/Under.
OKC beat the Charlotte Hornets 109-107 in its season-opener but will be facing a much deeper and more talented team Monday. Utah dropped the Portland Trail Blazers 120-100 on the road last Wednesday but took a 116-111 loss on home court against the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday.
The Thunder took two of three games in last season’s head-to-head series, but that was before key offseason departures including PG Chris Paul and C Steven Adams.
Against the spread (ATS)
The JAZZ -7.5 (-110) are the team to back while needing them to win by at least 8 points. They covered easily as 2-point road favorites against the Blazers but were stunned as 9-point favorites against the ‘Wolves. The Thunder covered easily as 3-point dogs Saturday, but again, the degree of difficulty is being ramped up Monday.
Jazz C Rudy Gobert is the biggest mismatch on the floor at both ends of the court for the Thunder. He has grabbed 17 rebounds in each of his first two games of the season and has scored 20 and 18 points. Thunder G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is his team’s best player, but he’ll be kept busy against the Jazz’s backcourt duo of Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley.
Over/Under (O/U)
Take the UNDER 220.5 (-110) with the Thunder falling shy of this number Saturday and the Jazz being 0-2 against the O/U thus far.
Last season’s meetings played to point totals of 195, 194 and 204 points. Despite the exodus of talent on the OKC side, Monday’s total sits at an inflated 220.5.
