USC will study how the Notre Dame defense attacks the Ohio State offense

When Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams prepare for @IrishWireND, they will study how Marcus Freeman attacks Ohio State.

USC has a game to play this Saturday, but Trojan fans will definitely be watching the Notre Dame-Ohio State game in South Bend. That contest begins roughly three hours before USC takes the field in Tempe against Arizona State.

Eventually, Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams will watch this game — not Saturday, and not Sunday, but soon. They will study Notre Dame in preparation for the October 14 showdown in South Bend against the Fighting Irish. Riley and Williams will want to see how Notre Dame and head coach Marcus Freeman attack a talented offense such as the one Ohio State possesses.

Fighting Irish Wire offered a “Tale Of The Tape” examination of how the Notre Dame defense stacks up against the Ohio State offense:

“While the Buckeyes’ offense might not be quite as effective as its defense, that unit remains very lethal. It will give the Irish more than they’ve seen from anyone else so far, and it’s scary to think just how good those players can be when they’re clicking. To say the Irish will completely shut the Buckeyes down would be unrealistic. They just have to make the plays in the right spots.”
