Miami Central defensive lineman Armondo Blount might very well be the best overall defensive recruit in the class of 2025. The best prospect from the state of Florida now has an offer from USC.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Blount is rated the No. 5 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is the consensus No. 1 prospect in Florida and the No. 2 defensive lineman in both the 247Sports rankings and 247Sports Composite. He had 30 tackles for a loss with 16 sacks in 11 games for his sophomore season at Miami Central HS.
“Right now, FSU and Miami. Florida is in the mix too, and Georgia. Those are the schools I’m looking at,” Blount said. “I haven’t really looked into it too much because I haven’t visited anywhere. Those are the four schools I’m going to try to get out to first for visits when I do get a chance.”
The Florida State Seminoles might be the favorites for now, but Blount has offers from 28 other schools, including Alabama, Georgia, Florida, USC and Miami. Also, only some agree FSU is in the lead. On3’s prediction model has Florida as the favorite at 39.2%, followed by Miami at 20.8% and FSU at 6.3%.
