USC Bowl Projections: 247Sports has Trojans in the College Football Playoff

The #USC playoff speculation is pervasive. The Trojans have to continue to block it out and focus on one thing: #BeatTheIrish.

The USC Trojans had been slated to play in the Rose Bowl against Michigan for the vast majority of the season. However, Tennessee and Alabama fizzling out, and Oregon losing to Washington, has helped the Trojans jump into the College Football Playoff conversation (not to mention the Trojans defeating UCLA).

Things look good right now, and Brad Crawford of 247Sports has USC facing Georgia in the Peach Bowl in the CFP Semifinal.

“Things are set up well for USC, who beat UCLA on Saturday and now have a chance to win out against nationally-ranked Notre Dame and Oregon to potentially make the final four,” Crawford wrote. “We moved USC into the playoff last week given the opportunity ahead for Lincoln Riley’s team and Tennessee’s loss to South Carolina propped the door wide open. Georgia will grab the No. 1 seed if the Bulldogs win out and take the SEC.”

Here’s the best way: Beat Notre and win the Pac-12 title. A USC team with one loss (a close road loss to Utah) and quality wins over UCLA, Notre Dame, and Oregon, would be incredibly tough for the Selection Committee to overlook.

Oh, and here’s a fun fact: The national title game will be played in SoFi Stadium. The Lincoln Riley era is here.
