USC adds wide receiver help in the transfer portal

USC tries to make up ground in the transfer portal.

After losing three of its top wide receivers to the transfer portal, USC football was in desperate need of help at the position. On Monday, the Trojans got just that with the addition of Boise State transfer Prince Strachan. Strachan will come to USC with two years of eligibility remaining.

In two years at Boise State, Strachan caught 37 passes for 578 yards and three touchdowns. In the College Football Playoff against Penn State, he had four receptions for 40 yards.

The addition of Strachan adds much needed depth to a USC wide receiver room that looks rather top heavy at the moment. While Ja’Kobi Lane and Makai Lemon should be one of the top receiver duos in the country, there are major questions about the position beyond that.

Outside of Lane and Lemon, the Trojans do not have a returning wideout who caught more than eight passes in 2024. Hence, Strachan should have a great opportunity to compete for playing time this fall.
