PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Michigan needed a win in the worst way on Saturday, and in usual years, when that was the case, Rutgers was its battering ram.
Not so the case on Saturday in New Jersey, as the Wolverines found themselves in not just a dogfight with the Scarlet Knights, but a virtual stalemate.
Nonetheless, the Wolverines pulled it out, getting a victory on the road after going to three overtimes in Piscataway. Assuredly, regardless, Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh will be pleased to have escaped with a win.
