An Elden Ring concert is taking place on Dec. 3, 2022, but it’s not your standard orchestral affair. It’s a jazz concert featuring Grammy-winning saxophonist Kenny Garrett and internationally renowned trumpeter Takuya Kuroda, and the duo said they’ll be building on the existing score and seeing where the music takes them.
“Jazz has so much potential to express what it is or what we want it to express,” Kuroda said in the concert’s announcement trailer. “No one can expect what’s going to happen. That’s why I think jazz is a good platform for [Elden Ring].”
“Elden Ring is going to be something different than I’ve done before,” Garrett said. “That’s how you become a better musician, and I’m up for the challenge.”
Garrett began as a musician with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and, since 1985, has forged a successful solo career and earned three Grammy Awards. Kuroda studied music at Berklee College in 2003 and has released half a dozen albums since then.
The concert will take place at 9 p.m. Eastern Time in person at The Bourbon Room in Los Angeles and via livestream, viewable in the United States. Tickets for the in-person and livestreamed concert are on sale now and cost $25. A video-on-demand version will be made available at a later date, which will also only be viewable in the United States.
Expect more Elden Ring music a few days after, at The Game Awards 2022 where the game – which sold over 16 million copies in less than a year – secured multiple nominations, including best game.
