Undermanned CU Buffs ripped apart by No. 10 Wildcats

Shorthanded and sloppy, Colorado suffered a 47-point loss to No. 10 Arizona

While Colorado managed just fine without Tristan da Silva and Cody Williams against the Pac-12’s Washington schools, the Buffs greatly missed their two stars at No. 10 Arizona.

The Wildcats took full advantage of the shorthanded and sloppy Buffs, never trailing in a 97-50 blowout at the McKale Center on Thursday. Colorado had 18 turnovers, including a career-high eight from KJ Simpson, and allowed Arizona to shoot 56.3% from the field.

The lone bright spot for Colorado was Javon Ruffin, who scored a season-high 11 points in only his third game back from injury.

Following its first loss since Nov. 29, Colorado is now 11-3 (2-1 Pac-12).

Head coach Tad Boyle’s Buffs will be at Arizona State on Saturday for a 6 p.m. MT tipoff (ESPNU).
