UNC hoops target AJ Dybantsa set to update recruitment

Will UNC end up a finalist of the Class of 2025’s top-ranked men’s basketball recruit?

The UNC men’s basketball program is no stranger to securing commitments from high-profile recruits, with this past offseason being a perfect example of that.

North Carolina added 5-star McDonalds All-Americans Drake Powell and Ian Jackson to its 2024-2025 roster, with both looking to play major roles in team success. Jackson is likely a starter, while Powell, who started a bunch in high school and led Northwood High School to a pair of state championship game appearances, will likely come off the bench to begin the year.

It’s never too early to start looking ahead in the recruiting process, something UNC is taking full advantage of before games start in November.

One highly-touted recruit the Tar Heels hope to lure in the future is AJ Dybantsa, the Class of 2025’s top-ranked player. Dybantsa already holds over 25 offers and – according to his 247Sports recruiting profile – visited Auburn and USC.

Dybantsa is clearly on North Carolina’s radar, but is North Carolina on Dybantsa’s radar?

We’ll find out early next year, as Dybantsa’s father said AJ plans to cut his list by next month and commit in Februrary.

If Hubert Davis truly wants Dybantsa to become a Tar Heel, he’ll have to up his recruiting efforts even more.
