A key UNC football target and top player in the class of 2023 has announced his top five programs in his recruitment. Wide receiver[autotag]Noah Rogers[/autotag] has included UNC, Clemson, NC State, Florida State, and Ohio State in his final list.
Rogers is ranked No. 68 in the class of 2023 Rivals250 rankings and the No. 10 wideout in the class.
The Roseville (NC) High wideout is also ranked as the top prospect in North Carolina.
He discussed his recruitment with Rivals’ national analyst Adam Friedman and had some good things to stay about the Tar Heels.
“It’s a hometown team that has been really great lately. They have a wonderful coaching staff and I’d love to play with my brother again. That’s a place that has a great overall offense that does things that other schools don’t do.”
Rogers’ brother, Cyrus, is a redshirt freshman at North Carolina and was part of the 2021 recruiting class.
Friedman went more in-depth about the chances he lands at North Carolina.
Rogers has the rest of his recruitment nearly planned out and most of these teams have been main contenders for some time. It appears as though Ohio State still has the momentum after his visit to Columbus earlier this offseason. N.C. State has a lot of pull with Rogers because of how close he is to the program and quarterback commit Lex Thomas. North Carolina is working hard to show Rogers that pairing his with incoming freshman Andre Greene Jr. would be an unstoppable combination and the possibility of playing with his brother, Cyrus Rogers, is a big factor as well. Florida State has been in and out of the conversation as one of his top schools but his relationship with Noles receivers coach Ron Dugans can not be overlooked.
Ohio State, which is my FutureCast prediction, and Clemson are the only two schools scheduled to get official visits from Rogers right now. He did mention that N.C. State and North Carolina visits could happen “whenever since they are so close” but nothing is scheduled at this point.
One thing that could be a factor is how effective expected starting QB Drake Maye is this year. With no more Sam Howell under center, the quarterback room is still a question mark.
