UNC basketball staff watches battle of top recruits at Nike event

The UNC basketball program was in attendance for Friday’s EYBL session in Atlanta, watching some recruits.

The high school season is over for players at their respected schools and the focus now shifts to the AAU circuit which kicked off Friday in numerous cities.

For the North Carolina Tar Heels, they will have their eyes on a lot of recruits this weekend and that got started on Friday night in Georgia. Coaches from North Carolina were in the Atlanta area for the Nike EYBL circuit on Friday night and they had their eyes on a big-time matchup.

Per Andrew Slater, the Tar Heels watched the matchup between the Georgia Stars and The Skill Factory on Friday. The matchup featured five-star recruits Isiah Evans (The Skills Factory) and Caleb Wilson (Georgia Stars) do battle as the court drew a large crowd, and rightfully so.

The Tar Heels were just one of the teams represented to watch that game, joining Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee, and Wake Forest among others.

Evans is a Huntersville, North Carolina native that is the No. 10 player in the 2025 class. He’s drawn a lot of interest so far in his recruitment with Duke n heavy pursuit. However, the interest from UNC hasn’t been much as of yet.

The same can be said for Wilson, who is an Atlanta product and the No. 9 player in the 2025 class.
