UGA vs LSU: SEC Championship halftime report

Georgias football struggled in the first half against LSU in the SEC Championship Game.

It was a frustrating half for the Dawgs in their SEC CHampionship matchup with LSU.

After the Dawgs missed on three deep ball opportunities on the first drive, LSU had no problems cruising down the field for seven points.

Georgia would go on to miss a deep field goal from Rodrigo Blankenship, leading to another quick touchdown for the Tigers.

At one point in the second quarter, Jake Fromm was forced out with an injury, leaving Stetson Bennett as the quarterback for a portion of one drive. Fromm would return; however, he threw an interception stalling a promising drive when he returned.

Fromm has thrown for 119 yards on 10/19 completions, while Brien Herrien leads the team with 19 yards on nine carries.

All in all, the Dawgs have looked completely overmatched in this half. They will get receiver George Pickens back in the second half, and will hope that it won’t be too little, too late after the hole they have dug themselves.
