See how John Dodson managed to snap a two-fight losing streak at UFC Rio Rancho.

[autotag]John Dodson[/autotag] is back to his winning ways.

The former two-time UFC title challenger and winner of Season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter” picked up his first stoppage win since 2016 on Saturday. Dodson stopped prospect Nathaniel Wood 16 seconds into the third round.

The bantamweight bout was part of the UFC on ESPN+ 25 preliminary card at Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, N.M. It streamed on ESPN+.

The bout was a calculated affair that had both fighters finding success in the first 10 minutes. In both rounds, Wood (16-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) controlled the inside of the octagon and landed several good shots on Dodson (21-11 MMA, 10-6 UFC), who maintained his distance circling on the outside of the cage.

Although the fight was competitive, Dodson seemed to land the cleaner shots in the first and second round, and that also held true in Round 3.

Seconds into the third, Wood rushed in with a combination and was met with a counter left hook by Dodson. Wood fell to the canvas, and Dodson pounced to follow up with heavy ground-and-pound, forcing the referee to call the fight.

With the result, Dodson snapped a two-fight skid. He’s now 3-3 in his last six performances. The 35-year-oldr now has 10 finishes via TKO or KO in his 16-year career as a professional fighter.

Meanwhile, Wood no longer remains unbeaten in the UFC. The loss to Dodson also snapped an eight-fight winning streak for the 26-year-old British fighter.
