Just a few days ago, 30-year-old lightweight fighter Justin Jaynes wasn’t a member of the UFC roster. On Thursday, it was reported that Matt Frevola, who was scheduled to face Frank Camacho, was off the card after one of his cornermen tested positive for COVID-19. UFC signed Jaynes as a last-minute replacement – and Jaynes delivered a brilliant finish in his UFC debut to make a name for himself on Saturday night.
Jaynes immediately rushed Camacho at the start of the first round, and after connecting with a few vicious shots and knocking Camacho down to the canvas, referee Herb Dean stepped in to wave off the fight when Jaynes continued to punish Camacho with a flurry of shots.
