PARIS – The heavyweight headliners of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 226 got one final pre-fight look at one another Friday in the venue that hosts the fights.
At ceremonial weigh-ins at Accor Arena, former interim UFC heavyweight champion [autotag]Ciryl Gane[/autotag] went face-to-face with fellow behemoth [autotag]Serghei Spivac[/autotag]. The two shared a respectful faceoff that was all business and concluded with a handshake.
France’s Gane (11-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) will have another home game as he looks to remain unbeaten on home turf while also bouncing back from a quick submission loss to Jon Jones at UFC 285 in March.
On the flip side, Spivac (16-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) aims to extend his winning streak to four. He enters the bout having recently strung together consecutive victories over Greg Hardy, Augusto Sakai, and Derrick Lewis.
