Allen (17-1 MMA, 10-0 UFC) defeated Kattar (23-7 MMA, 7-5 UFC) by TKO just 8 seconds into Round 2 of their featherweight main event at the UFC Apex. Kattar injured his knee at the end of Round 1. He tried to fight in the second, but stumbled early and referee Herb Dean waved things off..

Round 1 was a feeling-out process to start. Allen landed a couple of low kicks, while Kattar pumped out his jab. Kattar landed with a one-two combo, but Allen fired back with a left cross. Allen blitzed in with a combo of his own, tagging Kattar with a few clean shots. Allen started finding a home for his left hand. Kattar went for a jumping knee, but landed awkwardly and blew his right knee out. Allen jumped on for an anaconda choke, but Kattar survived the round.

Before Round 2 started, the cageside physician checked on Kattar, who said he was good to go. But just seconds later, Allen landed a calf kick to Kattar’s left leg, and Kattar immediately fell when he was unable to put any weight on the injured right leg.

Allen remained unbeaten in the UFC. He took the microphone post-fight and asked for an interim title shot since UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is preparing to chase a second belt in the weight class above.
