UFC 269: Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s UFC 269 odds and lines between Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena, with MMA picks, tips and predictions.

In a women’s bantamweight title bout on the main card, Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena meet Saturday at UFC 269 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 269: Nunes vs. Pena odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the early prelims at 6 p.m. ET, the prelims on ESPN2/ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET and the main card on Pay-Per-View starting at 10 p.m. ET.

Nunes, a.k.a. “The Lioness”, will be defending her strap for the ninth time. She hasn’t lost in 12 fights dating back to Sept. 27, 2014, against Cat Zingano at UFC 178. So yeah, it has been a while.

Nunes won last time out against Megan Anderson via first-round submission at UFC 259. Before that was a pair of unanimous-decision wins over Felicia Spencer and Germaine de Randamie.

Pena dropped Sara McMann via submission last time out at UFC 257 to get into position for a title shot. Before that, though, she lost to de Randamie. If you’re looking at common opponents, that’s not terribly impressive. She is just 2-2 across the past four fights, too, going the distance just once.

UFC 269 Nunes vs. Pena: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Nunes (21-4-0) | Pena (11-4-0)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

Nunes (-1100) is nearly unbeatable right now, and if someone is going to knock her off her perch, it isn’t Pena (+600).

However, you cannot risk 11 times your potential return, so you’ll have to be a little more specific.

Instead, play NUNES BY SUBMISSION (+360) for a chance to more than triple up. She won her last fight by submission, while Pena has had three of her past four fights end via submission, with two losses.

Over/Under (O/U)

Nunes has won three or her past five fights in the first round, including last time out against Anderson. However, I think Pena is able to make this one go at least two rounds. Playing a two-round block on Nunes is a better value. NUNES TO WIN IN ROUND 2 (+330) and NUNES TO WIN IN ROUND 3 (+670) is a value. Yes, you’ll lose one of the ends if The Lioness wins in Rounds 2-3, but you’ll still be well ahead.
