ABU DHABI – The UFC will crown a new light heavyweight champion Saturday night on “Fight Island.”
Recent title challenger [autotag]Dominick Reyes[/autotag] (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) takes on surging contender [autotag]Jan Blachowicz[/autotag] (26-8 MMA, 9-5 UFC) for the vacant 205-pound belt in the UFC 253 co-main event. The title became open after Jon Jones vacated it to move up to heavyweight.
Blachowicz weighed in early in the two-hour official window and was 205 pounds, right on the championship limit. Reyes was 205, as well. Check out their trips to the scale in the video above.
UFC 253 takes place Saturday at Flash Forum at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2 and ESPN+.
