UConn is coming off its worst shooting performance of the season, having shot just 31.1% from the floor in a Saturday loss to St. Bonaventure. The Huskies were cold from the field and also got to the line just 13 times, which is a far cry from the 25.2 free throws attempted per game in the team’s previous nine.
The Golden Eagles lost at Xavier Saturday and have dropped three of their last four games after starting the season 7-1. At Xavier, Marquette was a minus on the boards and in the turnover exchange, and the Eagles have now logged that toxic double in three straight games.
The Huskies swept two games from the Eagles last season.

Money line
Connecticut is the better team at both ends of the floor in shooting and defending different types of looks, in rebounding and in taking care of the ball. The Huskies had been off a week before their setback at Providence. They’ve had nice bounce-backs in next-time-out games after previous losses.
Look for a sharper Connecticut effort in this tilt. We were rolling with UCONN, but they were steamed up from -150 to -190. There’s not enough value there. PASS.
Against the spread
The road team is 6-2 ATS across the last eight meetings between the Huskies and Eagles.
TAKE THE HUSKIES -3.5 (-122). Marquette can create the pace, but not the turnovers and/or second-chance buckets it’ll take to cover. UConn has been embroiled in some hard-fought road/neutral-site games so far. The Huskies are the more veteran squad, and a 7-to-10 point win would not be a surprise.
Over/Under
It’s a well-made number, but you can go lightly on the OVER 141.5 (-115).
