UCLA women’s team moves to No. 1 in latest ESPN bracketology, joins same region as Caitlin Clark

UCLA and Caitlin Clark in the same region would be fun.

The UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team is preparing for the Pac-12 Conference tournament this week.

Cori Close’s team is riding all the momentum and they are a 3-seed in Las Vegas.

On Monday, Charlie Creme of ESPN released the latest bracketology, and the Bruins have gone from a 2-seed a week ago to now being a 1-seed.

Stanford, South Carolina, Ohio State, and UCLA are the projected one-seeds with the Bruins playing in the Los Angeles region.

The Pac-12 has seven teams projected in the field with Washington State listed as a last team in and Arizona, California, and Washington all in the Next Four Out category.

Creme has UCLA facing Hawaii with a second-round matchup against the winner of UNLV and Kansas. The Bruins are in the same region as Gonzaga, Oregon State, and yes, Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

If UCLA performs well in the pac-12 tournament, a 1-seed is very likely.
