UCLA receives commitment from Northern Arizona punter

The Bruins land a new punter.

Brody Richter, a 6’3, 210 punter announced he would be joining the UCLA Bruins for the 2024 season.  After one season at Northern Arizona, he moved into the transfer portal and is now going to be a member of the Bruins squad.

For Northern Arizona, he punted 23 times a season ago, for just shy of 1,000 yards. The Lumberjacks finished fourth in the Big Sky and went 5-6 overall on the season.

In 2023, the Bruins punted 48 times for 2,018 yards. Their net average was just under 40 yards per punt.  Will Powers was the punter the entire season. He is slated to be back for the Bruins, and the leading candidate for the starting job in 2024. Richter will come into summer camp looking to outplay him for the job.

UCLA will start its 2024 season on August 31st in Hawaii. The first game as a member of the Big Ten will come on September 14th, as they will host the Indiana Hoosiers.
