UCLA outlasts Cal for 5th straight win

Bruins win 5th straight and 7 of last 8 after topping Cal.

Is the UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team a tournament team?

A few weeks ago, the answer would be no. But, the Bruins won their fifth straight game and moved to two games above .500 with a 61-60 road win over Cal.

The Bruins have won seven of the last eight now and are trending in the right direction big time, even though the attention has been on the football program for the past 48 hours.

UCLA nearly blew this game, however, The Bruins had a 35-24 lead at halftime before Cal scored 36 in the second half. Some key free throws down the stretch and three UCLA players in double figures was the difference.

Adem Bona had 13 points with three blocks to lead the way as Lazar Stefanovic had 12 points and 13 rebounds and Dylan Andrews added another 12 points.

UCLA has everything going the right way, and they next face Colorado at home on Thursday to start a three-game homestand. Can they sneak their way into the bubble conversation?
