UCLA gets blown out by Washington on the road

UCLA had no defense and Washington scored 94. All in all, it wasn’t a good night for the Bruins.

The UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team is seeing their NCAA Tournament hopes vanish quickly. On Thursday, the Bruins lost to Washington, 94-77.

UCLA went into the half trailing by nine and then gave up 50 points to the Huskies in the second half. Four of the five Washington starters finished in double figures with Keion Brooks Jr. leading the way with 32 points.

UCLA was led by Lazar Stefanovic (22 points) and Dylan Andres (21 points) with Adem Bona chipping in a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Unfortunately, the Bruins defense was a no-show as Washington shot 55 percent from the field, 62 percent from the three-point line, and 79 percent from free throws.

The Bruins have now lost three in a row after a stunning six-game winning streak, so any hopes of a trip to the Big Dance have evaporated, barring a win in the Pac-12 Conference tournament.

UCLA plays Washington State on the road on Saturday before finishing the season with home games against the Arizona schools.
