Samarian Robinson will be getting some impressive frequent flyer miles as the three-star athlete from Florida has a busy June and July lined up on the recruiting front.
A class of 2024 linebacker at Lincoln High School (Tallahassee, FL), he checks in at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds. Robinson is a consensus three-star recruit according to Rivals, 247Sports, ESPN and On3.
A verbal to UCF, Robinson has pulled in recent offers from Arizona, Colorado and Rutgers. His latest offer came in this week from Rutgers, his first from a Big Ten program.
Robinson committed to UCF in mid-January.
The offer from Rutgers came after the program had started building a relationship earlier this spring when defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiak visited the program. Corey Hetherman, the Rutgers linebacker coach, visited Robinson last week for his spring game.
He will take an official visit to Rutgers the weekend of June 9.
“It just came about and I took and I know I have to go on a visit because I’ve never been before to New Jersey,” Robinson told Rutgers Wire on Friday morning. “I’m looking forward to seeing and experiencing it.”
The offer came in this week via a call with the Rutgers staff, including head coach [autotag]Greg Schiano[/autotag]. Robinson doesn’t remember Schiano’s tenure as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but has done his research on the coach.

He thinks that Schiano’s experience as a head coach in the NFL and at Rutgers can help develop him as a player.
“He’s an older dude so I know he will have more knowledge than coach Prime (Colorado head coach Deion Sanders) or coach Ernie (UCF linebacker coach Ernie Sims) at UCF,” Robinson said of the 56-year-old Schiano.
“He’ll be able to teach me some things that other coaches might not be able to. He can offer tips and advice to help me as a player.”
On the weekend of June 2, Robinson will be taking an official visit to UCF. He will be at Rutgers the following weekend and then will have weekend visits to Arizona and Mississippi State the final two weekends of June.

He is also hoping to visit South Florida for an official visit sometime, perhaps in July.
One program that will be getting an official visit, likely in the fall, is Colorado. Robinson hasn’t talked to Colorado’s head coach – his offer came from defensive coordinator Charles Kelly – but he is looking to further that relationship with a fall official visit.
“He’s doing great with the Florida recruits. It made me feel great to get that offer and that I want to perform well knowing they’re watching,” Robinson said.
“I think he’ll be great, he played at Florida State. He has a lot behind his name he built a great program at Jacksonville State and he is doing big things right now. He knows what he’s doing.”
