Some major breaking news dropped on Saturday night when the State of Michigan health department suspended U of M athletics for two weeks after a COVID-19 variant was discovered in the athletics department. This will put Michigan State Basketball’s game against Michigan on Feb. 6 in major jeopardy.
There were five confirmed cases of the B.1.1.7 COVID-19 variant found in the department with 15 more presumed to be positive as well, as reported by Ethan Sears of Michigan Daily.
The order won’t directly affect MSU but will almost certainly postpone the game scheduled for two weeks from today.
