It felt like EVERYBODY knew it the moment Tyrese Haliburton’s name was read as the Sacramento Kings’ pick at No. 12 in the 2020 NBA draft: it was a HUGE steal for the franchise.
Since then, the Iowa State guard has proven it in the first four games of his NBA career. Right out of the gate, he’s averaged 10.5 ppg, 5.3 apg and has shot 50 percent (!) from beyond the arc (!!) and 56 percent overall. On Tuesday, in an upset of the Denver Nuggets, he had 13 points, six dimes and three steals.
The hype is officially here. And Haliburton had a message for anyone who criticized his funky-looking jumper:
They said the jumper wouldn’t translate

Seriously! It did translate! Look at him drain these:
Keep being impressed by the play of Tyrese Haliburton. A couple good reads here. Nuggets mess up the switch on this action, Dozier ends up trying to recover but going way under. Haliburton sees it, reads it and pulls from 3. pic.twitter.com/CFNo1ihwKv
