Miami Heat guard Jimmy Butler became just the third player in history to record a 40-point triple-double during the NBA Finals but it was rookie Tyler Herro that seemingly stole the show on social media following a key play late in the fourth quarter.

With less than a minute to go, and the Heat up by seven points, Herro drove it to the basket with Rajon Rondo matched up on him. Herro made a terrific move on Rondo to stop and go up and under to hit the layup and seal the Game 3 win on Sunday.

Following the shot, Herro made a snarl and immediately set off social media, though, perhaps, not in the best way. Regardless of the reaction, Herro said on Monday that the face he made was a spur-of-the-moment thing, something he hasn’t done before.

“The snarl? I kind of just did it,” Herro said. “I’ve never really made that face before, like ever in my really entire life. Kind of just happened in the midst of things, in the moment. Just how it is when you’re a competitor.”

Afterward, Butler said the play and the snarl was yet another thing that he loved about Herro. The sequence by Herro proved to be just another big-time moment during the postseason as he continues to perform well in just his first season.

Game 4 is set to tip-off on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
