Tyler Herro goes for 14 points as Heat drop Game 5 to Celtics

The Celtics outscored the Heat 70-50 in the second half to complete the 12-point comeback to win on Friday night.

Jayson Tatum scored a game-high 31 points and Jaylen Brown had 28 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 121-108 win over the Miami Heat on Friday in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. With the win, the Celtics cut the series deficit to 3-2.

Miami led the Celtics 58-51 at halftime but was outscored 70-50 in the second half to allow Boston back into the game. The Celtics held the Heat to 16.7% (3-of-18) shooting from 3-point range and outrebounded Miami 28-12 in the second half to complete the comeback.

Goran Dragic scored a team-high 23 points to lead the Heat as each starter scored in double figures while rookie Tyler Herro added 14 points off of the bench.

The Heat appeared to be the better team during the first half but were outplayed in the second half to lose the game. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra acknowledged his squad was outplayed and vowed to correct the mistakes heading into Game 6 on Sunday.
