Ty Lue introduced as new Clippers head coach on Wednesday

The Los Angeles Times reports that Ty Lue will have his introductory press conference today as the new coach of the Lakers.

The ongoing rivalry between the two NBA squads in Los Angeles will officially start a new chapter on Wednesday, as the Los Angeles Clippers are scheduled to introduce new head coach Tyronn Lue, according to Andrew Grief of the Los Angeles Times. While Clippers executives Lawrence Frank and Steve Ballmer will also speak, there will likely be a few questions thrown at Lue regarding his former player, Lakers star LeBron James.

James and Lue worked together for nearly three seasons, including helping bring Cleveland its first sports title in 52 years when they won the 2016 NBA Finals over the Golden State Warriors. Lue, you may recall, was very close to becoming the head coach of the Lakers in the summer of 2019. After reports suggested they had agreed to join forces, contract talks broke down after the Lakers only wanted to offer Lue a 3-year deal. Lue has reportedly signed a five-year deal to coach the Clippers.

No matter what the results, there is no doubt the L.A. vs. L.A. rivalry has gotten more personal.
